They’re popular because they’re durable, weather-resistant, and relatively cost-effective for the size you get. If you need something seen from a distance, a banner usually does the job.
The first decision is size. Bigger isn’t always better, but it does need to match where it’s going. A banner across scaffolding in Dublin needs different proportions than one tied to railings outside a pitch in Drogheda. If you know the space, measure it. Guessing rarely works out well.
Eyelets are normally included so the banner can be tied or fixed securely. Placement matters — especially if it’s going outdoors where wind is a factor. A poorly secured banner can tear or flap itself to bits. Not ideal after you’ve just paid for it.
Design-wise, keep the message simple. One headline. One key detail. Maybe a phone number or website. People overcomplicate banners constantly. If someone is driving past at 50 km/h, they won’t read five lines of text. Large, bold wording works better. Mild opinion, but backed by reality.
Colour contrast is important too. Dark text on a light background or vice versa. Avoid putting text over busy photos unless you know what you’re doing. It looks nice on a screen sometimes but disappears at distance.
We print banners for everything — local businesses across Louth, sports clubs, construction sites, promotions running across Leinster, and plenty heading into Dublin for events or shop openings. Turnaround is usually straightforward once artwork is sorted.
PVC itself is strong enough for outdoor use, but it still helps if it’s installed properly. Tension evenly spread. Not tied only at the corners. If you’re unsure, ask. We can advise on fixing methods that prevent ripping.
If you’ve got artwork ready, send it over. If you’re starting from scratch, give us the size and the message first. That’s enough to begin. Get in touch and we’ll help you avoid the common mistakes that make banners hard to read.
