People want something unique. A one-off design. A joke for a group trip. A special message for an event. Sometimes it’s just someone wanting a shirt with their own artwork that you won’t find in a shop.
The biggest thing with custom work is expectations versus artwork quality. A design that looks great on a phone screen might not translate perfectly onto fabric if the resolution is low. Fine lines can disappear. Colours can shift slightly depending on material. That’s normal, but it’s better to know in advance than be surprised.
Quantity often starts small with custom shirts. One shirt, five shirts, maybe ten. That’s where digital transfer or vinyl methods usually make more sense. Screen printing isn’t always practical for tiny runs because of setup. Again, it depends on what you want.
We’ve printed everything from family reunion shirts around Louth to promotional designs being sold at markets across Leinster. Sometimes people just want something fun for a weekend in Dublin. Other times it’s a serious brand launch with merchandise involved. Same product, completely different context.
Shirt quality still matters here. Even for custom pieces, nobody wants something uncomfortable or badly fitted. We can suggest options that balance price and comfort depending on your needs.
Placement is another consideration. Front centre is common, but chest logo, back print, sleeve print — all possible. Just don’t overcrowd it. A clean design usually looks better than trying to fill every space.
Sizing again should be confirmed properly if it’s for a group. Guessing leads to swaps later. Happens all the time.
