Builder Signs

We have built up a reputation for producing high quality printed products

Builder signs are common across residential and commercial projects, and they serve two purposes at once.

First, they identify who is working on the project. Second, they act as ongoing advertising while the work is underway. A house renovation in Drogheda might last months, which means the builder’s name is visible to everyone passing by for that entire period. That visibility adds up.

The typical builder sign includes company name, phone number, logo, and sometimes a short description of services. Simplicity works best. If someone driving past can read the name and number in a few seconds, the sign is doing its job. Overloading it with text rarely improves results.

Material matters because these signs usually live outdoors for weeks or months. Rigid weather-resistant boards like Correx or aluminium composite are common choices. Correx is lighter and cost-effective for temporary projects. Aluminium composite lasts longer and handles wind exposure better, which can be worth considering on exposed sites across Leinster where weather can be unpredictable.

Size should match visibility distance. A small sign on a large site gets lost. A large sign on a small gate can feel overwhelming. Placement also affects effectiveness. Mounting near the entrance where people naturally look tends to work best rather than hiding it behind fencing or scaffolding.

We produce builder signage for contractors across Louth constantly, and many of those builders operate across Leinster with multiple projects running at once. Consistent branding across sites helps recognition. Someone might see a sign in Dundalk and then notice the same branding again in Dublin weeks later. That repetition builds familiarity.

Fixing methods vary depending on the surface — cable ties for fencing, screws for timber hoarding, or brackets for more permanent mounting. It’s worth thinking about how the sign will be attached before printing so holes or mounting points are positioned correctly.

If you’ve got artwork ready, send it on. If not, even a logo and phone number is enough to start. Get in touch and we’ll help you choose materials that match how long the sign needs to last.
